NEW YORK – June 13, 2010 – NBC celebrates the nation’s birthday extravaganza with an all-star line-up of performances including multi-platinum and legendary artist Beyonce and country music superstar Brad Paisley. Hosted by Nick Lachey, from NBC’s “The Sing-Off,” the show will air on Monday, July 4^th 9-10 p.m. ET, 8-9 p.m. CT.

With her latest album due out June 28, titled “4,” Beyonce has received numerous accolades for her music, including being named the 4th Artist of the 2000s decade by Billboard and receiving a record-breaking 16 Grammy’s. Beyonce has sold over 75 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. The Recording Industry Association of America also ranked Beyonce as the top certified artist of the decade. Apart from her work in music, Beyonce has also launched a career in acting, earning her two Golden Globe nominations for her role in “Dreamgirls,” and her own fashion line with her mother, “House of Deréon.”

Three-time Grammy Award winning country music artist Brad Paisley, released his ninth studio album in December, “This Is Country Music,” with his hit single “Old Alabama” reaching number one on the country music charts. Paisley has sold more than 12 million albums and scored 18 number one hits on the country music charts. He has won 14 CMA Awards, including Male Vocalist of the Year three times, and continues to be Country Music Association’s reigning Entertainer of the Year.

Nick Lachey, a multi-platinum recording artist, actor and television personality first rose to stardom as the front-man of the popular band 98 Degrees, selling 10 million albums worldwide and charting several top-forty hits. Lachey later went onto star in “Newlyweds,” one of MTV’s most successful shows in the network’s history. In 2003, Lachey launched an enormously successful solo album career for which his second record “What’s Left of Me,” went to number two on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. Lachey continues to be a presence both on and off the small screen and he currently hosts NBC’s highly-rated show “The Sing Off.”

The Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks, the nation’s largest Fourth of July fireworks display, returns to the Hudson River to illuminate the sky over New York City with a glorious spectrum of colors, shapes and sparkling dazzlers. More than 40,000 firework shells will ignite the sky for the nation’s 235th birthday party. “Gift Of Freedom,” the theme of this year’s Macy’s Fireworks display, will pay special tribute to the 125th Anniversary year of the Statue of Liberty that for generations has served as a beacon of hope and freedom for millions. The fireworks spectacular will take more than 3 million spectators on a high flying journey through the nation’s musical history that is filled with unique harmonies embraced by the entire world.

The telecast is a production of Universal Media Studios in association with Macy’s. Brad Lachman will executive produce. Lachman’s credits include a variety of NBC specials, including the “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade,” “Christmas in Rockefeller Center,” in addition to “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!” and a variety of other projects.

TLC to air the wedding of Nick Lachey & Vanessa Minnillo

TLC, home to the most popular wedding programming on TV, today announced that it is partnering with celebrity couple Nick Lachey & Vanessa Minnillo to air “Nick & Vanessa’s Dream Wedding” (working title) – an all-new special that will share their wedding planning and ceremony. It will air within weeks of the event – an airdate will be announced later.

From their joint wedding shower to shopping for the perfect dress, viewers are invited to follow along with the couple and their friends as they celebrate their impeding wedding. The special will culminate with VIP access to their ceremony, the details of which are being kept private to preserve a special, romantic day for them and their families.

“We’re lucky to have such passionate and loving fans, and we thought partnering with TLC on this special would be the best way to share the exciting journey we’re on with all the people that support us and our relationship,” said Nick and Vanessa.

“From big events to ongoing series, TLC is the destination for the best wedding coverage on television. Nick and Vanessa are today’s ‘it’ couple and the excitement for their wedding keeps building. We know their fans will love sharing in their celebration,” said Amy Winter, GM, TLC.

The special will join TLC’s popular line-up of wedding-themed series such as SAY YES TO THE DRESS and its spin-offs SAY YES TO THE DRESS: ATLANTA and the new SAY YES TO THE DRESS: BRIDESMAIDS, and FOUR WEDDINGS. The network recently aired a week-long programming event celebrating the marriage of Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and also aired the 2-hour wedding special NIECY NASH’S WEDDING BASH.

Big East Conference Announces Unveiling of Big East Anthem Last One Standing Written and Performed by Nick Lachey

Song to be played during ESPN Broadcast of BIG EAST Men’s Basketball Championship Game on Saturday night

NEW YORK – The BIG EAST Conference today announced that it will unveil “The BIG EAST Anthem,” entitled Last One Standing — written and performed by multi-platinum recording artist Nick Lachey during ESPN’s broadcast of the 2011 men’s basketball championship finals on Saturday night.

Lachey, a friend of the BIG EAST Conference, wrote and performed the song specifically for its inclusion around conference programming.

“Each of our 5,500-plus student-athletes at our 16 member institutions embody the message of this song each time they take the court or field,” Commissioner John Marinatto said. “It is so appropriate for us to release this song while at the 2011 BIG EAST Men’s Basketball Championship. With the potential for 11 conference teams to be selected for the NCAA Tournament this year, the last team standing will have survived the most difficult conference tournament in the country.”

“As a Cincinnati native, I have had a passion for college athletics and the University of Cincinnati,” said Lachey. “I have grown a strong affinity to the BIG EAST since it joined the conference, and think that this song represents the true test that these inspiring student-athletes face by competing in this league.”

The BIG EAST Anthem will be the exclusive song of the BIG EAST Conference and will be played throughout select conference programming. Those in attendance at Madison Square Garden during the 2011 BIG EAST Championship game will see a video highlights montage produced by Gardenvision following the on-court awards ceremony.

Nick and Vanessa will appear on tonight’s episode of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” for a celebrity segment to help promote awareness for “The Pound for Pound Challenge”

This past December, Nick and Vanessa went to Cincinnati Cooks! to participate in TBL’s “Pound for Pound Challenge” in association with Feeding America (for which Nick is part of the Entertainment Council) to help raise awareness for the issue of hunger in America.

Together they met and volunteered alongside others who work in the job training program at Cincinnati Cooks. To give you some background on the contest itself, “The Biggest Loser” says that for every pound you (the audience) pledge to lose through May 31, 2011, the Pound For Pound Challenge will donate 11¢ to Feeding America® — enough to secure one pound of groceries on behalf of local food banks. $1,040,000 maximum donation.

Welcome to my new website.

Hey everybody! I wanted to officially welcome you to my new “official” website. This is the place to come to learn everything there is to know about what’s going on in my career and life in general. I will be updating the site as often as I can with blogs, video blogs, pictures, and most importantly……..music. It’s been a busy year so far, so let’s go ahead and get everyone up to speed.

First off, let’s talk about the music! As most of you know by now, the music business has changed dramatically in the last decade. Gone are the days of the music stores when people would line up to buy their favorite singer’s cds as soon as they came out. With the age of the internet, most people these days get their music online. These changes have made the role of the record company change as well. Artists are far less dependant on the record companies to market and sell their music, so we’ve seen a lot of artists take advantage of that and take on the role of being their own record company, so to speak. After being a signed artist for the last 15 years, I am excited to say that I am now one of those people! I have had the pleasure to work with a few different labels over the years. Motown was a legendary place to start my career in music, with so much history and experience. Universal records was a fairly new label when we moved from Motown, and it was exciting to be a part of the success they’ve enjoyed there. Finally, Jive records gave me the chance to do the solo project I had always envisioned and dreamed of and I will be forever grateful to them for that opportunity. However, after many years together, I asked for and was granted, my release from Jive records. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for me to be in complete control of my music career and do things on my own for the very first time. The bad news is that the album I have been working on for the last 2 years is still the property of Jive and will probably never be released. So, it’s back to the drawing board as they say! I am getting back into the studio now and am working like crazy to get this album done for all of my fans out there! I know you all have been waiting patiently for a while now, but I have to ask you to wait just a little longer. The good news is that I can now control what is released and when, so I’ll be able to give you all more access to the music I’m doing as I’m doing it.

I also want to officially announce that I’m hosting the 2^nd season of “The Sing Off” on NBC. It’s going to start airing at the end of November and run through the live finale on December 20^th. For anyone who didn’t see the first season of the show, it’s awesome. These groups are incredibly talented and the music is unreal. You guys gotta check it out.

Lastly, I’m proud to announce that my baseball team, the Tacoma Rainiers, won the Pacific Coast League this season! It’s the first time in over 40 years that they’ve won the league title. Congrats to the city of Tacoma and all Rainier fans out there. I’ve been able to do some pretty cool things in my life, but there was nothing like experiencing the champagne and beer shower in the locker room after winning a championship. Awesome!
